This antique Wedgwood commemorative plate depicts the historic “Capture of Vincennes”, a scene showing General George Rogers Clark receiving the sword of the English commander at Fort Vincennes during the American Revolutionary War.

Produced by the renowned English pottery maker Wedgwood, this piece was created for the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) as a historical souvenir plate for the American market. The central blue transferware scene is beautifully framed by a delicate wild rose floral border, a classic decorative element that enhances the plate’s antique character.
