The backstamp indicates the item is made of "Royal Semi Porcelain" and was produced in England. "Royal Semi Porcelain" is a type of ironstone, a durable form of pottery. John Maddock & Sons was a pottery company founded in 1842 in Burslem, England.
The company was known for producing fine china and ironstone, often with intricate floral designs. The company's name changed over time, with "John Maddock & Sons" being used from 1870 until the mid-1960s, which helps in dating the piece.

All four are in excellent condition without any chips or cracks. One dish does have crazing. some of the gold edging has been rubbed off from years of use. Please see all photos closely as they are part of the description.

Each measures approximately 6 3/4" x 3".
