Science Skillcards were prepared by Dtho E. Perkins, a Science Supervisor for the Columbus Public School System in Columbus, Ohio, and William Tilsner, an Elementary Science Teacher for the St. Paul Public School System in St. Paul, Minnesota. The copyright on this item is from 1966 by Charles E. Merrill Publishing Co., Columbus, Ohio.

Science Skillcards supplement and enrich your science program with individualized activities for your pupils. The supplementary experiences outlined on each Skillcard are designed to reinforce basic science concepts. Each card measures 5"x7" and are kept in a sturdy box for storage.

1. The pupil selects from the box a card which is related to the science concept under consideration.
2. The pupil reads the background material (Problem).
3. The pupil gathers the necessary equipment (Materials) and follows the instructions (Procedure) to perform the experiment. (Note: Most experiments can be completed with simple "everyday" equipment.
4. The pupil draws conclusions based upon his/her observations during the experiment and records his/her results and conclusions.
5. The pupil then reads the reverse side of the Skillcard to compare his/her findings with a scientific explanation of the problem (Conclusions).
