Antique German Teacup: C.T. Altwasser Children Chasing Butterflies

Antique C.T. Altwasser German teacup, likely produced between 1890 and 1914. C.T. Altwasser refers to C. Tielsch and Company, a porcelain manufacturer located in Waldenburg-Altwasser, Germany (now Wałbrzych-Stary Zdrój, Poland). The teacup is decorated with a whimsical scene of children playing with butterflies, set against a green and white landscape. The teacup features a gold-trimmed rim and a unique. handle. The illustrations are still clear and sharp and there are no chips or cracks. Some of the gold around the rim has worn off, adding to the character of the antique cup.

The bottom of the mug is marked C.T. ALTWASSER Silesia Germany and what appears to be the number 86.

The cup measures 2 1/2' H X 2 1/2" at the mouth and 3 1/2" from edge of handle to outer edge of cup.
