VTG, Teak Collapsible Basket, Laser Cut Cat Theme 1980s - Wedding Shower Gift! Cat Lover

DESCRIPTION:
VTG, Teak Laser Cut Collapsible Basket. Made in the 1980s, this delightful piece is both beautiful and functional. The frame is cut from a single piece of wood, as is the basket. The teak wood has a cheerful cutout decorative design at the top featuring a cat in a window at the top surrounded by stems and leaves. The section below is an round shaped collapsible basket made possible by a neverending laser cut that begins in the center and winds around over and over. The narrow cuts allow the wood to gradually bend and spring downwards creating a small basket for storing small items. The basket is attached to the frame on left and right side and rotates to enable the basket to flatten when not in use and for storage. There is a small piece of flat wood at the bottom that rotates to create a stand. This could be used in an Entry to hold keys etc.
